Today I thought it would be fun to share with you a previously unseen room in our home! As far as I’m concerned this room is not in need of any major changes and probably won’t get much face time on the blog….so why not introduce you once and then move on!
There is a MAJOR back story on this room and that is I Cannot Take Credit for the design concept…..I only helped take one amazing bloggie all star and designer’s vision into a reality!
Together, Jessie from Cape27blog (I might be her biggest fan) and myself brought this room to a reality. Jessie is an incredible designer and as far as I’m concerned the MASTER when it comes to creating Mood Boards. She took my aesthetics, wants and needs for the room, desired color pallet (I had already painted the room Benjamin Moore – Thunder), furniture that I already owned (art, pillows, couch) and created a very cool virtual design experience. She whipped up this amazing mood board {Read about it here}, then I got to work taking her vision to a reality! So please to take a tour!
These might be the coolest wing back chairs…the blue is so rich! The pillow on the far left side is a previously owned item.
And you can see my fav pom pom curtains. I was having a hard time deciding on curtains for this room because my Ikat ones in the Dinning Room were over powering all of my ideas! I had already been pinning this pom pom style for months….so when Jessie suggested a similar option from Anthropology, I went with my gut and DIY’d the pom pom fringe curtains!
One thing Jessie is stellar at is finding great art on Etsy.
And below you can see the before and afters. It took me close to 5 hours to un-install those plaid curtains! Each side of the window had about 10 screws! My arms were soooo sore!
Well I guess If I could change one thing right it would be the tile around the fireplace. I would love love love for marble tile and possibly a fireplace insert. With kiddo’s this fire place scares the heck out of me!
So I hope you like the room! I’m a color fanatic and love Bright and Bold. I know that’s not for everyone…but I don’t decorate for everyone..if you can’t tell by now, If i were a color I’d be PINK!
